Carol A. (Fye) Grant

Carol A. (Fye) Grant, age 72, of DeLand, FL, formerly of Brookville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the Advent Health Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City, FL. She was born on October 6, 1950, in Clearfield, PA, to the late James and Oleta (Groves) Fye II. She graduated from Brookville High School with the class of 1969.  She continued her education at the New Castle Business College in New Castle, PA for two years, graduating in 1971.

Carol married her true love, William H. Grant, on April 14, 1971, in Brookville, PA, he preceded her in passing in 2017. They were married for over forty-five loving years. They raised two sons in Brookville, PA, and then moved to DeLand, Fl, where they continued to enjoy their life and family.

Carol worked for the Walmart Corporation for many years, retiring in 2016. She had many hobbies over the years that she thoroughly enjoyed.  She loved baking for her family, crafting new projects, and especially working on word search puzzles.  She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Carol loved spending time with her family and friends, which brought her so much happiness. She truly treasured each one of them. Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Carol is survived by two sons; Jason W. (Elizabeth) Grant and Scott D. Grant both of DeLand, FL; two granddaughters; Vanessa and Renee Grant of DeLand, FL; one sister; Deborah (David) Shimmel of Luthersburg, PA; two brothers; Bernard Lee (Deb) Fye of Brockway, PA, James (Sandy) Fye of New York; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and husband, William H. Grant.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 11 – 1 pm, at the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale Rd., Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, following the visitation, beginning at 1:00 pm, and officiated by Reverend David Koehler. Interment will take place privately at the Beechwoods Cemetery, Washington Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carol's name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Arrangements are under the care of Carrier Funeral Home.
