Carolyn Jane (Rogge) Papevies, age 88, of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at McKinley Health Center in Brookville, PA. Carolyn was born in Easton, PA, on September 24, 1936, to the late Walter E. and Vivian L (Dotterer) Rogge.

Carolyn graduated from Dupont High School in Jacksonville, FL.

Carolyn married the love of her life Benedict Papevies on July 17, 1955, in Jacksonville, FL. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2010. As a housewife and homemaker, she fulfilled her role in caring for her family. Her husband and children were her highest priority, relishing their shared moments. Carolyn held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she deeply loved every one of them.

Throughout her life, Carolyn particularly enjoyed scrapbooking, ceramics, and knitting as her favorite pastimes.

Carolyn is survived by four children; Debbie McKinney (Bob Britton) of Cedar Key, FL, Kimberly Basler of Brookville, PA, Linda O’brien (Alan Brackett-deceased) of Marietta, GA, and Robert Papevies of Brookville, PA; eleven grandchildren; Kelli (Nate) Sopic, Lauren (Matt) Gilligan, Casey (Ben) Boddorf, Tyler (Olivia) McKinney, Ashley (David) Acree, Lyndsey (Kyle) Cartledge, Matthew O’brien, Taylor Papevies, Kayla Papevies, Haley Papevies, and Dillon Cart; eighteen great-grandchildren; Alec Shaffer, Owen Shaffer, Rhett Sopic, Porter Gilligan, Sadie Gilligan, Tucker, Karle, Ella, Jack Boddorf, Addison Acree, Carter Acree, Wyatt and James Cartledge, Madison Cain, Layla and Allie Garner, Gracie Gipson, and Alaina Cart; and one sister-in-law; Freida Rogge.

In addition to her parents and husband Benedict, Carolyn was preceded in death by one son; Michael Papevies; one sister; Vivian Pechefsky; and one brother; David Rogge.

Family and friends will be received for a visitation on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd., Brookville, PA 15825. A memorial service will be held following the visitation also at the Carrier Funeral Home, beginning at 2:00 pm and officiated by Pastor Kenton Shaw.                        

Interment will take place privately at the Meade Chapel Cemetery, Knox Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd., Brookville, PA 15825.
