Elsie Louise (Knapp) Winters, age 82, of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at her home. Affectionately referred to as Louise, she was born in Brookville, PA, on February 2, 1944, to the late Harold A. and Olive G. (Corbett) Knapp.
Louise proudly graduated from Brookville High School in Brookville, PA, as part of the class of 1963, and always looked forward to the class reunions. Louise earned her LPN certification through the nursing program at Jeff Tech Vocational School in Reynoldsville, PA.
Louise dedicated over thirty years of her life to healthcare as a Licensed Practical Nurse before retiring. She genuinely cherished her work, the colleagues she collaborated with, and the patients she cared for.
Louise married the love of her life, Kenneth V. Winters on November 1, 1963, in Brookville, PA; he survives. Their devoted love for one another created a lifetime of treasured memories for more than sixty-two years.
Louise was an auxiliary member of the F.O.E. 983 Brookville Eagles in Brookville, PA.
Louise had a passion for collecting antiques and loved her time working around the family farm. Throughout her life, she consistently took the initiative to lend a helping hand to others.
Louise held her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother close to her heart, embracing each one with love. She was a constant source of support to her family throughout their lives. Her vibrant spirit radiated through her quick wit, infectious laughter, and genuine affection for others. Those who had the privilege of knowing and loving Louise will cherish her memory and miss her deeply.
In addition to her husband Kenny, Louise is survived by two sons; Ronald (Karla) Winters of Lancaster, PA, Rickey (Kimberly) Winters of DuBois, PA; three grandchildren, two step- grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two step-great-grandchildren; one sister; Deborah McCraw; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by four brothers; Charles Knapp, Donald Knapp, Dale Knapp, and Dennis Knapp.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 11 am - 1 pm at the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd., Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, also at the Carrier Funeral Home, beginning at 1:00 pm, and officiated by Pastor Dianne Hetrick.
Interment will take place privately at Jefferson Cemetery, Clover Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd., Brookville, PA 15825.
