Hazel Louise (Park) Mohney, age 94, of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA. Born August 17, 1930, in Eldred Twp., Louise was the youngest of three children to the late Benjamin H. and Hazel (White) Park. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

On October 20, 1950, Louise married John W. Mohney at the Sigel Presbyterian Church in Sigel, PA. They were blessed with a loving marriage of more than forty-three years. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1994.

Louise graduated in 1948 from Eldred Twp. High School in Sigel, PA. Following her graduation from the DuBois Business College in DuBois, PA in 1949, she worked for Jefferson Electric Co-op (REA) in Brookville, PA for two years. After raising five children, she was employed by Columbia Gas Transmission in Brookville, PA, fifteen years before retiring.

Louise was an active member of the Brookville First Methodist Church in Brookville, PA, for over sixty years where she played the piano for various church functions. During her years of church membership, she was also a member of the United Methodist Women, taught Sunday school, helped in the nursery, and attended Bible study.

Louise enjoyed playing the piano, painting classes, reading, walking, and social activities throughout her lifetime. She was devoted to her faith and family, and she will be dearly missed by her loved ones. 

Louise is survived by three sons; Daniel P. (Diana Wells) Mohney of Brookville, PA, Robert J. (Kathleen Minich) Mohney of Brookville, PA, Joseph A. Mohney of Brookville, PA; two daughters; Cynthia L. (Michael) Patton of Woodland, PA; Ann Marie (David) Gluth of Corry, PA; ten grandchildren; Daniel II, Tiffany, Andrew, Elizabeth, Timothy, Mark, Adam, Jena, Amber, and Benjamin; two step-grandchildren; Will, Amber Grubbs;  twenty one great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, and two great- great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, husband and siblings, Louise is preceded in death by her grandson; Samuel Mohney, and her granddaughter; Katelyn Mohney.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 11 am- 1 pm at the First Methodist Church in Brookville, PA. A funeral service will be held following the viewing also at the church, beginning at 1:00 pm and officiated by Reverend Joe Short.

Interment will take place privately at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Eldred Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd., Brookville, PA 15825.
