Jack Lee Hays

Jack Lee Hays, age 83, of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2022, at DuBois Penn Highlands Hospital in DuBois, PA. He was born to the late Laird L. and Isabelle M. (Keller) Hays on February 24, 1939, in Punxsutawney, PA. Jack attended the Brookville Area High School and graduated with the class of 1957.

On March 13, 1960, Jack married his loving wife, Betty J. (Geer) Hays in Stanton, PA, who preceded him in death in August of 2022. They were together for over sixty-two loving years.

Jack worked for Brockway Glass where he retired in 1999. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the NRA. Jack loved to watch sports, especially when it came to his own children and grandchildren. Above all, spending time making memories with his wife and family was everything to him.

Jack is survived by three sons; Jack L. (Cindy) Hays, Scott (Laurie) Hays, and James (Becky) Hays all of Brookville, PA; four grandchildren, Kirk (Resa) Hays, Jamie (Andrew) Williamson, Morgan (Grant) Dull and Tyler Hays; three great-grandchildren, Wade and Tate Williamson, and Huck Hays; four sisters-in-law; Linda Shaffer, Brenda Geer, Rose Geer, and Patty Geer; and two brothers-in-law; Robert Geer, and Delbert Geer.

In addition to his parents and wife, Betty, Jack is preceded in death by two sisters.  

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 1 – 3 pm at the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale Road, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held privately by the family and funeral home. Interment will take place privately at St. John’s (Windy Hill) Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson County, PA.
