February 20, 1961 ~ July 30, 2023 (age 62) 62 Years Old

Obituary

John “Jack” George Theisen, age 62, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at his home.

Jack was born in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of William Lynn Theisen and Mary "Molly” Jane Mehrten on February 20, 1961. He married Cheryl (Henry) Goodwin in Brookville, PA, on August 23, 2013.

Jack graduated from Brookville High School in 1979, and attended Haywood Community College of Clyde, North Carolina, graduating third in his class in the field of Forest Management. He followed this with a certification in Lumber Inspector Training at the National Hardwood Lumber Association headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee. His career and interests in these fields spanned his lifetime.

He used this background in recent years with his involvement and volunteer work at the Jefferson County Historical Center Scripture Rocks Heritage Park.

Jack is preceded in death by his father, William Lynn Theisen, and more recently his son, William John Theisen, Esq.

Jack is survived by his wife Cheryl (Henry) Goodwin Theisen and the following stepchildren; Tony Goodwin of Smithville, TN, Renee (Todd) Mullens of Conyers, GA, Clinton (Brenda) Goodwin of Sigel, PA, James (Holley) Goodwin of Wayland, NY, as well as his pal, Terra, his favorite Cat. He loved to have the grandchildren at his home. Jack is also survived by his mother; Mary Jane (Mehrten) Stickley, and stepfather David Stickley; his sister Jean Theisen (Tim) Britton of Clearfield, PA; two nephews; Blayne King, Chris (Abbey) King, one niece Nikki (Harlen) Funk, and one daughter-in-law; Jessie Theisen of Pittsburgh, PA.

Jack was gifted with a quick wit and great sense of humor. In recent years he has struggled with Multiple Myeloma, having a stem cell transplant in 2014, and continued treatment with Hillman Cancer Center. We appreciate their care and compassion through the years.
