Lois L. (Kirkman) Kerner

Lois L. (Kirkman) Kerner, age 94, of Coolspring, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023, at the Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA. She was born on February 25, 1929, to the late John and Claire (Suffolk) Kirkman in Brookville, PA. She graduated from Brookville Area High School with the class of 1947. Lois married Jack Kerner on July 18, 1953, in Brookville, PA, he preceded her in passing in October of 1996. She worked at many various nursing homes doing many different jobs. She spent the rest of her time taking care of her home and family. She enjoyed making lots of pies for family and friends to share. Lois was a member of the Coolspring Presbyterian Church in Coolspring, PA.

Lois is survived by one daughter; Diane (David) Nogacek of Coolspring, PA; two grandchildren; David (Michele) Nogacek Jr. of Erie, PA, and Ashley (Chad) Kiehl of Brookville, PA; two great grandchildren; Corinne Nogacek, and Cooper Kiehl; and one brother; Charles Kirkman of Brookville, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois is preceded in death by four sisters; Wanda Himes, Frances Swartz, Phyllis Saver, and Madeline Proof; and two brothers; Leo Kirkman, and Ted Kirkman.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm, at the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale Rd., Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 2, 2023, beginning at 12:00 pm, and officiated by Pastor John Swanger. Interment will take place privately at the Coolspring Cemetery, Cemetery Hill Rd., Oliver Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
