LuAnn (Hetrick) Haugh, age 70, of Falls Creek, PA, formerly of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville, PA. She was born at home in Hormtown, PA, on August 18, 1954, to the late Elmer M. and Kathryn A. (Burkhouse) Hetrick.
LuAnn graduated from Brockway High School in Brockway, PA with the class of 1972.
On January 11, 1974, in Brookville, PA, LuAnn married the love of her life, Paul H. Haugh II. For over forty-three years, they shared a wonderful marriage filled with love and commitment as they raised their two sons. Paul preceded her in death on November 21, 2017.
LuAnn earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of Science in Secondary Mathematics from Clarion University, Clarion, PA. She was a lifelong high school math teacher for the Brookville Area High School in Brookville, PA, until her retirement in 2010. LuAnn was an outstanding mathematics teacher who made a significant impression on her students by fostering a love for the subject she cherished.
LuAnn was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Falls Creek, PA.
Throughout her life, she had numerous interests and hobbies which included collecting baskets, quilting, and making various crafts. LuAnn took pleasure in cooking and gathering new recipes. She never missed an opportunity to go shopping, focusing on primitive items, especially antiques. LuAnn was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan and enjoyed watching them play.
LuAnn was a devoted and caring wife and mother. She was incredibly kind and had a sense of humor that everyone appreciated. Her life was characterized by faith, hard work, and integrity, reflecting her commitment to her family and friends. LuAnn has left a legacy that will be remembered and cherished in the hearts of those who dearly loved her.
LuAnn is survived by two sons; Michael Paul Haugh of Bozeman, MT., Benjamin A. (Chelsea) Haugh of Reynoldsville, PA; one sister; Doris J. Dickey; one brother; Robert L. (Sandra) Hetrick; sisters-in-law; Darla Hetrick, Susan (David) Moore, and Gretchen (Hud) Gerg; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, LuAnn is preceded in death by five siblings; Margaret Stover, Bernard “Tink” Hetrick, Thomas C. Hetrick, Harry E. Hetrick, and an infant sister; brothers-in-law; Richard Stover, Joseph Dickey and John Harvey Haugh.
Per the family wishes, all services will be held privately. Interment will also be held privately at the Brookville Cemetery, Brookville, Jefferson Co., PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd., Brookville, PA 15825.
