Sandra Joyce (Dinger) Himes

Sandra Joyce (Dinger) Himes, age 81, of Brookville, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family on March 19, 2023, at her home in Brookville, PA. She was born on June 24, 1941, to the late Harry D. and Lois N. (Geist) Dinger in Knox Dale, PA. She graduated with the class of 1959 from the Brookville Area High School. She married the love of her life, Bobby A. Himes on August 22, 1958, in Brookville, PA, he preceded her in passing in 1993.

Sandra was a homemaker who dedicated her life caring for and loving her children and family. She also worked at the family business, Himes L & R Store in Clarion, PA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and Nana through all the years. Sandra loved to care for children, especially her own grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was proud to be a part of each of their lives. She enjoyed reading, especially when it came to old mystery novels. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Brookville, PA. She was very involved over the years helping with prayer groups and making the funeral luncheons. Sandra had a strong faith in God and family.  

Sandra is survived by four children; Mike (Ann) Himes of Emerickville, PA, Rhonda Himes of Brookville, PA, Kevin (Marilyn) Himes of Brookville, PA, and Beth (Mike) Perrenoud of Chesapeake, VA; seven grandchildren; Mike (Charla) Himes of Emerickville, PA, Mark (Kelly) Himes of Gibsonia, PA, Chuck Roseman of Summerville, PA, Levi Roseman of Vermont, Rachel Perrenoud of Chesapeake, VA, Kelsie Perrenoud of NC, and Hailie Perrenoud of Chesapeake, VA; and four great grandchildren; Brian Himes, Samantha Himes, both of Emerickville, Vada Himes, and Jimmy Himes, both of Gibsonia, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sandra is preceded in death by one granddaughter; Gigi Perrenoud; and one brother; Jay Dinger.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 2 – 4 pm, at the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale Rd., Brookville, PA. A celebration of life will take place on March 22, 2023, beginning at 4:00 pm, and officiated by Reverend Mr. Loren McQueen. Interment will take place privately by the funeral home at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Winslow Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
