Vicki Louise Mauk, age 62, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at the Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital in DuBois, PA. She was born on January 15, 1962, in DuBois, PA, to the late Sharon J. (Irwin) Mauk. 

Vicki graduated from Brookville High School with the class of 1980. 

She worked at Plyler's Restaurant and Dan Smith's Candy in Brookville, PA for many years. She then moved to Maine and worked at New Balance and then Starbucks in Florida for several years. After returning to Brookville, Vicki worked at Dan Smith’s Candy until her retirement in 2014.

Vicki had a soft spot for all stray cats; especially her beloved cat, Cooper. 

Vicki treasured her family and held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She was actively involved in their lives and was their biggest supporter. Vicki resided with her younger brother Joe, sharing a close bond as they cared for one another over the years. 

Vicki is survived by one son; David Adam (Jennifer) Slagle of Brookville, PA; four grandchildren; Emma, Ava, Bella, and Luke Slagle of Brookville, PA; three siblings; John (Virginia) Mauk of Carlisle, PA, Yvonne Haney of Tyrone, PA, Joseph Mauk of Brookville, PA; one brother-in-law; Robert Magill of Wilson, NC; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her mother, Vicki was preceded in death by one grandchild; Amelia Slagle; one sister; Deborah Magill; and one brother-in-law; Mitch Haney.

Family and friends will be received for a visitation on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 10 - 11 am, at the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale Rd., Brookville, PA 15825. A memorial service will follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am also at the funeral home, and officiated by Pastor Randy Matheny. Interment will take place privately. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Vicki's name to Stray Cat Central, 49 Haney Rd., Brookville, PA 15825. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carrier Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses, 2834 Maplevale Rd., Brookville, PA 15825.
