Willard W. “Bill” Fitzsimmons, age 93, of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital in DuBois, PA. Bill was born in Brookville, PA, on February 21, 1932, to the late Charles W. and Dorothy E. (Witheroe) Fitzsimmons.

Bill graduated from Clarion Limestone High School with the class of 1949. Bill served his country with pride in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He was based in Bad Kreuznach, Germany.

Bill married the love of his life, Mary E. (Edwards) Fitzsimmons on March 29, 1980; she survives. The couple shared a loving marriage spanning more than forty-five years of mutual devotion and faithful companionship.

Throughout his entire lifetime, Bill was a diligent worker who never stopped working. For several years, he was self-employed as a bricklayer and in the construction industry before going on to work in the maintenance department for the Brookville Area School District in Brookville, PA until his retirement in 1994. After retirement he kept himself busy as a school bus driver, a position he held until 2015. 

Bill was a member of the Roseville Independent Chapel in Brookville, PA.

Bill enjoyed outdoor activities such as deer hunting and fishing. He was also an avid bowler who competed in the American Bowling Congress Championships in 1971.

In addition to his wife Mary, Bill is survived by four stepchildren; Jennifer (Eduard) Berger, Lorraine McNeill, Scott (Elaine) McNeill, Nathanael "Nate" McNeill; seven step-grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one sister; Joanne Chitester; one stepbrother; George “Junior” Carrier.

At the wishes of the family all services will be held privately.

Interment will also take place privately at the Roseville Bethel Cemetery, Union Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd., Brookville, PA 15825.
