“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” -Gandhi
Born and raised in Brookville, Pennsylvania, native Lance Carrier
graduated from Brookville Area High School in 2015. He then attended Pittsburgh
Institute of Mortuary Science in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There he
achieved an Associates in Specialized Business Degree, and a Diploma of Funeral
Directing and Embalming, and graduated as valedictorian of his class with high
honors. After that he continued on to Point Park University to obtain a
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Psychology for death
and dying.
During his time in
Pittsburgh, Lance worked for a multitude of funeral homes and embalmers to
acquire knowledge, experience, and skills to bring back to his community. That
is where he began to dream and build his aspirations of a future trade service
and to one day own his own funeral home to serve friends and families around
the area.
After extensive education and training, Lance returned to his
hometown to pursue a career in funeral service. He moved back in the spring of
2018. After completing his year-long internship
requirements, Lance then moved forward to create a trade business in the local
surrounding areas in 2019.
He created Carrier Trade
Services LLC where he worked for a multitude of funeral homes doing embalming,
layouts, removals, arrangements and funerals. After almost four years of
maintaining his own trade business, the opportunity of a lifetime to buy,
remodel and open Carrier Funeral Home had finally arrived. He has the knowledge
and skills to assist you and your family during the hardest time, while
compassionately caring for and memorializing your loved one. He
understands that each family is special and has personal requests and
traditions that is of the utmost importance to him.
Lance lives in Brookville, PA, and involves himself in the
community in many ways. He is a leader and positive role model and has
shown this by participating and volunteering in the community. Two of the
biggest organizations he has been involved in are the Boy Scouts and the
Volunteer Fire Company. In Boy Scouts he earned the necessary merits to be
awarded the prestigious Eagle Scout Award. The boy scout motto also promoted the idea of
doing a “Good Turn Daily”. He continuously follows this by doing anything
he can to be helpful. He feels involvement is so important and wants to
give back to his community.
He currently is a
member of the Brookville Fire Company where he serves as an active member both
on calls and events. He also serves as a Deputy Coroner for Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.
Lance recently completed the basic
Coroner Education Course and successfully obtained his certificate.
He enjoys helping other
people, outdoor activities such as hunting, taking walks, and especially time
with his family and friends. He is the son of Jeffrey and Jacquelyn Carrier of
Brookville.
